Stanford’s H4XLabs summer cohort is a BMNT supported follow-on program for Hacking for Defense for teams (and partial teams) that want to create a  dual-use company. H4XLabs is the only dual-use incubator focused on H4D teams.

Accepted teams receive a grant of up to $20K to continue your discovery work during the summer. The goal is to help you further build your company (customers, team, product, etc.) to raise money and get orders.

Unlike other incubators H4XLabs connects both the Silicon Valley and Department of Defense ecosystems providing each team access to:

  • SBIR and other government funding pathways

  • Direct access to the Dept of Defense Customer Base – BMNT works with most of the organizations that could be your customer

  • Expertise in how to get orders directly from the Government and/or partner with government contractors

  • Access to the Defense Investor Network – 75 venture capital firms funding dual-use companies

  • Lean Startup Part 2 Expertise

  • Network of Advisors and subject matter experts

  • Faculty made up of practitioners. Steve Weinstein, Pete Newell, Mark Peterson – see h4xlabs.com for more information

  • The program is free. We do not take any equity in your company. At the end of the program, we will help you find your next investor.

How Do We Work With Teams

H4XLabs follows a curriculum that is a direct follow-on to the H4D class.  We customize it as we know not all teams leave the class at the same stage.  The curriculum is made up of tracks that by the end, you should have a clear vision and strategy for going forward.

The program is:

  • Program Length – 2 months

  • Commitment - Weekly - basic coursework, mentor/advisor office hours, strategy sessions

  • Location:  Virtual online

The tracks are as follows:

  • Track 1 – Team creation, put in place basic company structure

  • Track 2 – Complete MMC efforts, while adding BMC – creating a dual use company

  • Track 3 - Converting MVPs into product and technology pathway

  • Track 4 – Customer Acquisition, Branding, and early go to Market Strategy

  • Track 5 – IP, Contracts, Corp infrastructure

  • Track 6 -  Fund Raising and next steps
